The only way we could know if they were any good was to put them up and see what feedback we got and we got some poor feedback regarding their effectiveness.

Because of this we have decided to launch a competition where fans of BTD games can contact us with a chance of writing for my blog and getting paid to do so. The opportunity is write walkthroughs including screenshots for any of the levels of BTD 4 and the upcoming BTD 5. In particular the ones that need covering first are those already exist on the blog but now need redoing.

Once we have received adequate feedback from readers that the walkthroughs work you will be paid the amount agreed upon before you start the writing.

This would be an ongoing opportunity for a fan(s) who may have played BTD games loads of times and wants to use their knowledge and expertise from the games (particularly BTD 4 and the upcoming BTD 5) to earn money for themselves.

Popping Fields Walkthrough

To be fair the first land is very easy and you shouldn’t encounter much trouble with figuring out how to pop the balloons and pass each of the 12 levels. Therefore I haven’t included any of the levels of popping fields in this walkthrough as to avoid patronising the avid bloons fans.

Bloon Dunes Walkthrough

The second land in the bloons 2 game is known as ‘bloon dunes’. Again I found this land fairly easy to complete. I have included one out of the 12 levels you may potentially get stuck on below:

I have ear marked level 20 – reservoirs as the possible tricky one, although I’m sure many people will get past it without assistance, nevertheless you can find how to complete it below.

Level 20 – Reservoirs

Dart 1

Loop your first dart over the six blocks obstructing an easy throw and down into the space containing lots of balloons and a line of grey bricks underneath. This dart needs to pop all the balloons and take out all the grey bricks as it bounces around otherwise you will need to reset the level.

Dart 2

As you can see dart 1 has now cleared the way for dart 2, where you can project it directly through the gap so it bounces down into the second section of balloons below. Make sure you have full power on your second dart for it to clear the top section.

Below we can see the dart has cleared the top section and has now burst all the bottom balloons completing this level!

Frosty Fun Walkthrough

Frosty Fun does contain some tricky levels which I did spend quite a lot of time on, so you can find the more challenging levels of this bloons 2 walkthrough below.

Level 25 – Icy Cookie

I haven’t broken down this level walkthrough dart by dart as there is no need to. The simple way to complete this level is to avoid the middle row of ice balloons. If you clip them with any of your darts then you will freeze a considerable amount of the balloons and fail the level. So the key is to loop your darts in a slim bannana shape like throw above and below the row ice balloons. Concentrate most of your darts on clearing the top section of balloons and then the last dart on the bottom section and you should have no problem.

Level 26 – Watched Pot

Dart 1

Your first dart needs to be looped almost directly ahead but also so that it drops before the first iced balloon and into the ‘pot’ where it should clear most of, if not all of the balloons away.

Dart 2

Your second dart should be looped over head so that it takes out many of the dangling frozen balloons. Your third dart can do the same although I found I had popped enough balloons by my second shot so I didn’t have to care about where my third dart goes!

It’s been more than 3 years since the first bloons game hit the internet and how flash games have developed since then. What’s funny though is that although flash games have moved on in leaps and bounds since bloons was released, bloons still remains the most popular free flash game to ever hit the internet.

This still goes to show that the word ‘casual’ should be an important idea for any serious game developer as flash games become more and more in depth and are moving away from being relaxed and easy to pick up and play. Whilst some game developers are looking to produce more lengthy and visually stunning games, bloons with its simple game play and concept still outguns the best of flash games in the market.

Bloons 2 game is expected to be an epic sequel yet from the look of the screen shots below it is keeping much of its simplicity intact. This will be imperative to keep fans happy, as the last thing anyone wants is a ‘must read’ long instruction book attached to the sequel due to too many enhancements or deviations.

We will be bringing you the Bloons 2 walkthrough almost as soon as the game is released. Obviously it will take a little time to create as there are 96 levels in the game to write about and snap, but we will be working 24/7 to be the first to get you the guide.

Other new features that you can expect include brand new balloon types which will include: Bees, Blooming, Camouflage, and Reverse Gravity in addition to favorites like Tacks, Spikey, Ice, and Bombs.

The screen is set up with a single main entry road and branches off into four different routes. The roads are numbered 1-7. The first road into the screen is road 1, Road 1 forks into two roads, Road 2 on the left and Road 3 on the right. Road 2 forks into two roads, Road 4 on the left and Road 5 on the right. Road 3 branches off into two roads, Road 6(left) and Road 7(right).

Before you start off, make sure you go to the top left hand corner of the screen and get the Frag bombs; they are free and will help you out on all of the levels you decide to play.

The Walkthrough

If you follow this walkthrough of balloons tower defence 4 correctly, you will not lose a single life. This is the expert level and the trick to this setting as you will find out is to get all the balloons before they go into any one of the four roads. If you lay out your arsenal on the four roads then you would waste too much money.

Save your game after every successful level, a successful level is not where you have passed particularly but where you have not wasted too much money and got through the level unscathed.

Remember you will have some differences in your game compared to this walk through, however, use your brain, if you can upgrade an item mid level then do so, as this will help you out in the long run.

One thing that should be mentioned before you start the game, is running this game on fast forward can damage your chances of winning, you will lose fewer lives (if any) if you do not touch the fast forward button.

This concludes the Expert format on hard setting.

After finishing level 75 you will be able to continue with this setup, however, instead of Boomerang Towers you need to make super monkeys and upgrade them to sun gods.

As you will be able to see the map is shaped like a curvy road, the reason why the map is difficult is because the road is wide, therefore, getting a weapon that can do maximum damage is tough. There is only one entrance point (up the top) and one exit point (at the bottom).

Before proceeding to start this tack of balloons tower defence 4 make sure you go to the upgrades section in the top corner of the screen to get Frag Bombs, it is free and will help you out a lot, on any of the levels.

The Walkthrough

This walkthrough ensures you will not lose a life if done correctly, and will also take you much further than round 75, however, beware you will need to be on your guard as almost every level requires you to lay down road spikes. When laying down your road spikes ensure you only lay down as many as you need, if you lay down too many then money in

the first couple of rounds becomes scarce and you will not get terribly far. Monkey glue is also tremendously helpful on this level so you may need to lay this down, the best advice is to save your game after every round and this way if you have what you believe to be a poor round then you can restart the level.

You will come across some differences in your game, mostly due to the amount of glue and spikes you lay down; however, you must use your common sense, if you can afford to upgrade something previous to when it is mentioned then do so, but you always need to leave enough money for monkey glue and road spikes.

After finishing level 75 you will be able to continue well into the 100’s with this setup, you need to continue using your common sense, keep buying all the items mentioned

above and place them where you can, you will also need to buy an array of sun gods (upgraded super monkeys.

This walkthrough is for the third intermediate track on the hard setting on Bloon Tower Defence 4. Prepare yourself for a massive 75 waves of bloons. You have 100 lives and a starting cash amount of 650 to buy items. As you can see the map is shaped like a globe, and the only entry/exit point on the map is at the bottom.

To start, click on the top left hand of the screen to purchase ‘Frag bombs’ for free, this will not cost you anything and it will help you greatly.

The Walkthrough

In your game you will come across slight differences with your walkthrough, so you have to change some bits around for your game. For example, if you can afford to buy, or to upgrade a tower mid level then you should always do so, this is very helpful for rounds that are tough (which the majority of them are!) You will also need to be very vigilant as to strays passing through, to pick these off use a combination of road spikes and monkey glue. You may also find that you can or cannot build certain items on specific levels as shown below, however, use some initiative and build/upgrade the tower as soon as you can.

With this walkthrough you may lose lives, but you can follow this walkthrough and lose none, (depending on how good your BTD4 skills are). If you decide to continue after round 75 then continue to build and upgrade super monkeys, by doing this you may even get through to about round 100!

The following is a walkthrough of the second Intermediate track on hard setting for Bloons Tower Defence 4. There are 75 waves of bloons, and you have 100 lives to defeat the level. As you can see from the screen, there are four entry/exit points even though the bottom left hand avenue is not used as an entry point.

This guide takes you from the start of level 1 all the way through to level 75 on the hard setting. In the top left hand corner of the screen, you will notice that you can purchase premium upgrades, however, click on it and you will find that the ‘Frag bomb’ upgrade is free, you should make sure you download this as it is very helpful to level completion.

The Walkthrough

With this walk through you should not take everything as gospel, even though ‘set’ levels are detailed below if you can afford to buy or upgrade a tower mid level then make sure you do this, this ensures some damage limitation on harder rounds.

Build Tower Monkey in the centre of the screen

Sell tower monkey and replace with cannon, set the cannons target priority to strong.

Buy a dart monkey and place next to cannon. Upgrade the monkey to piercing darts.

Sell dart monkey, and buy another cannon to replace the monkey. Set the second cannons target preference to strong.

Upgrade second cannon to bigger bombs, be vigilant on this level, there may be a Bloon or two that slips through, you should keep an eye on the yellow bloons to ensure none of them go through, stop them with road spikes.

Round 14

Upgrade second cannon to longer range.

Round 15

Buy a glue gunner and place to the left of cannon 1. Set its target priority to strong.

Round 16

Upgrade glue gunner to sticker glue.

Round 17

Upgrade glue gunner to glue soak.

Upgrade either ice tower to snap freeze. Beware of this round on Balloons Tower Defence 4 as Bloons will seep through; pick them off with road spikes.

Upgrade the other ice tower to snap freeze.

Buy another glue gunner and place to the right of the cannons. Set the target priority to strong.

Round 31

Upgrade the second glue gunner to glue soak.

Round 32

Upgrade the second glue gunner to corrosive glue.

Round 33

Buy a cannon (upgrade to bigger bombs), and place in the middle of the top right circle. Ensure you use the road spikes well in this round, as it is another camo bloon round. If you have low funds ensure that the first spikes you lay are on the central road, this ensures that when the cannon fires and pop some other camo bloons.

Upgrade cannon in the top right hand corner to longer range and missile launcher.

Buy a Cannon and place in the centre of the bottom left circle. Upgrade to bigger bombs and longer range.

Upgrade the cannon in the bottom left hand corner to missile launcher.

Buy three more cannons and place them on the inside track of each circle as so:

Set three new cannons to target strong bloons.

Round 46

Buy the forth cannon to complete the set. (Set these four cannons to priority last) Upgrade all new cannons to bigger bombs, longer range, and missile launcher. Then move on to upgrading all ‘outside’ cannons to Moab maulers, starting with the cannon in the top right and then the bottom right of the screen.

Round 48

Upgrade the two remaining ‘outside’ cannons to MOAB maulers. Buy a mortar tower and set the target to below and upgrade to greater accuracy. This next round is another round with Camo bloons; make sure that you hit a couple of them with road spikes to start the carnage!    

Round 49

Sell the two cannons in the centre of the screen. Buy a super monkey, upgrade to super range and set priority to strong.

Round 48

Upgrade the two remaining ‘outside’ cannons to MOAB maulers. Buy a mortar tower and set the target to below and upgrade to greater accuracy. This next round is another round with Camo bloons; make sure that you hit a couple of them with road spikes to start the carnage!    

Round 49

Sell the two cannons in the centre of the screen. Buy a super monkey, upgrade to super range and set priority to strong.

Upgrade the mortar tower to rapid reload and Bloon buster.

Round 50

Buy a second mortar tower and place near the first one, set the target to below:

Upgrade the mortar tower to Bloon buster.

Ensure all MOAB mortars are targeting strong.

Upgrade super monkey to laser vision.

Sell the two mortar tower and build another super monkey above super monkey two.

Rounds 71-75

For the remaining levels upgrade super monkey 3 to plasma vision, when you have the money build another super monkey below super monkey 1 and upgrade to plasma vision. This will give you enough to complete the final levels.

With this Balloons Tower Defence 4: Intermediate track on hard walkthrough (as detailed above) you will lose lives, but you should be able to stop the majority of these ‘strays’ early on with strategically placed road spikes. After finishing level 75, you should continue to play in free-play mode. If you decide to do this then keep buying and upgrading super monkeys in place of, or in addition to, some of the cannons that you have on the screen, however, do not remove all of the cannons especially the MOAB maulers.

This map is shaped like a long and curvy road. When you look at the map you will see that the top section is where you should be trying to do the majority of your damage to your balloons, and this is reflected in the walk through. There is one entry at the top left of the screen, and an exit directly underneath the entrance.

Before you get underway, make sure you go the top left hand of the screen to the ‘premium upgrade’ section, and click through to get the Frag Bombs. The Frag bombs are free, and they will help you throughout all of the levels you face.

The Walkthrough

In this walk through you will not lose a life if you follow it precisely, however, to do this you need to be aware of each stage. To do this, you should ensure you save your game before each stage. Monkey glue and road spikes are less critical on this map then the majority of the others, but to ensure you lose no lives you still need to lay some of them down.

While following this walk through you will come across some differences; however, you need to make sure you look ahead in the walk through to see what you need to build/upgrade. If you can afford to build or upgrade an item before it is mentioned then do so, if you cannot afford the item then there is a decent chance that you have made an error, because even a small error can severely change the way the game plays out.

After seeing off level 75 of tower defence 4 you should continue on, and you will be able to proceed to around level 90-100 if you continue buying the same towers as shown above. You should also buy super monkeys and upgrade them to sun gods as these are the most powerful weapons available on the game.

This walk through will get you through this stage, however, do not expect everything to fall exactly into place. You may find that some Bloons pass through on levels that you do not expect, you may also find that where I have entered ‘lay down spikes’ there is no need to, so you need to use your brain as to when you should lay down the spikes and/or pineapples.

After level 75, you will realise that the game will allow you to continue in free-play mode. You should always continue as you can build your rank, which allows you to unlock all of the upgrades available.

With a layout like above on any setting, you should be able to complete all of the maps on the expansion. Firstly laying down a solid defence is imperative, then moving on to building some solid money income from banana plantations. After this, building cannons, with glue gunners and super monkeys will allow you to defeat the harder maps.
